Sharon was keen to train as an Alexander Technique teacher and undertook a 1,600 hour Alexander Technique teacher training course at the School for FM Alexander Studies in North Fitzroy, Melbourne.  Training as a teacher of the Alexander Technique involves an intensive study and practice of FM’s principles of the use of the self in activity. Trainings included the use of intention and spatial awareness, embodied anatomy and mindfulness applied to activities such as musicianship, yoga and working with others.  Sharon has extensive training in the use of her hands and is steeped in the powers of gentle and indirect procedures.  Today, she combines her skills of the Alexander Technique with acupuncture and aims to meet you where you are and guide you towards a state of alert relaxation, alignment and health.  Her subtle touch is not so much mystical but comes from many years of training and pursuing what is “just right”. In addition to her bodywork, Sharon also has a passion for Classical Chinese herbal medicine. With many hundreds of hours committed to post-graduate study in herbal medicine and a largely organic, herbal dispensary at hand, she also offers affordable and high quality formulas to assist clients with their health needs.

Our approach

Both the Alexander Technique and Chinese Medicine practices are built on the premise that your body and mind are inseparable. The Alexander Technique gives you tools to improve the way you move through your favourite activities and respond to stimulus. Chinese medicine aims to restore your body-mind to a natural state of balance so you are better equipped to fend off pathogenic factors.
